Flip has just concluded the production of the We want Equality Documentary on Economic Social and Cultural Rights for The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR).
JCTR is a research, education and advocacy team that promotes study and action on issues linking Christian Faith and social justice in Zambia and Malawi.
JCTR believes that there is a need to ensure that all Zambian citizens enjoy their basic rights through an expanded Bill of Rights in the Zambian Constitution which guarantees economic, social and cultural rights.
Economic, social and cultural rights include the right to education, right to housing, right to an adequate standard of living, right to health, victims’ rights and the right to science and culture.
Once enacted into law, an expanded Bill of Rights in the Zambian constitution can guarantee the protection of social, economic and cultural rights. This way, citizens can hold the State and public bodies accountable in courts of law for violations or denial of their rights and lead to improved standards of living of the majority poor Zambians.
The Documentary will be shared on JCTR platforms and here soon.
